"Well, you're not broken, but you've been changed Jia. Just like I have. I'm the same way too. Except, I don't have a cord cause I'm solar powered instead of electric powered. But, we really are a lot alike and I wanna help you."
Jia seemed to be relaxing, even if only a little bit. But when he mentioned his parents sending him away... When Yong Soo had read through Jin's medical reports, that their son was dying, he thought that maybe they couldn't afford his treatment. They were from the lower end of the social ladder. The Korean had came up with a nice little story in his head; that they agreed to the procedure as a last resort to save Jia's life. Then time went buy and they couldn't keep up with their payments back and Jia turned Jin was taken away and sold. Every night his family had weeped for their lost son and worked tirelessly to try and get him back.
But realistically, heavy metal poisoning was a kind of poisoning that could easily take place gradually over time. Especially if hidden in food or other supposed medicine.
After a long moment of silence, Yong Soo finally blurted out the obvious. "Your family sold you." he muttered. "They sold their son."

Though his face was hidden, Jia quietly listened to everything Yong Soo was telling him, nodding occasionally to show that he was paying attention. So...that guy was the same thing as he was? One of those bot things that the upper classes used as servants? Why couldn’t he remember any of it? …Unless his regained consciousness at that moment was some kind of mistake.
His mind glazed over as the Korean continued to talk about the minute differences in their features...electric versus solar or something like that. It didn’t really matter to Jia either way – neither method involved oxygen and blood. He looked up from his hands to give Yong Soo an inquiring look when he mentioned wanting to help him – was that even possible? Jia doubted there was any way to reverse the procedure...and even if there was, where was he supposed to go afterwards? He wasn’t even supposed to be alive. That thought hit him hard as he turned from the other bot and flopped onto his back, staring up at the ceiling.
“I always knew mama and baba saw us more as tools than kids,” he muttered, gold eyes focused on the spindly cracks that flecked the uncoloured dry wall. “Gege and jiejie were always better in school than I was, so I guess they figured it was the only way I’d ever make money for them. It was an easy choice, I think.”
Jia wondered if the money he’d brought had even made any difference in his parent’s lives. Were they still living in the same too-small house in the Western Sector? Its walls screaming for a coat of paint and its temperamental oven refusing to stay on for more than ten minutes at a time? He sighed after a moment of thought, burying his face once again; they’d probably wasted it on another pointless investment, just like they always did. It was probably all gone by now.
“...D’you how long I’ve been like this? Like, how many years?”

"Almost two years now since you were changed over." Yong Soo sat, just staring at Jia as he gazed at the ceiling.
He just couldn't believe it no matter how much Yong Soo thought about it. Yes, his own parents had disowned him after he chose to leave. But his parents had mourned his leaving. They were at the hospital when he awoke aftr the emergancy surgeries that were preformed to save his life. His mother had sobbed when the doctors told him he would never move again. Even though his parents were against his chosen fields of study, they still supported him until Yong Soo threw away his humanity. He just could not understand people who would be willing to throw away their son for money.
Unable to help himself any longer, Yong Soo pulled Jia into a hug. "I'm sorry Jia. If you don't want to go to your family, I'll find you a new home. Or you could stay with me and my brother. I'll make sure you're taken care of."

“Two years...huh...”
So how many life defining moments had he missed in those two years? Two proms, his graduation, scurrying around for college applications and filing for grants and student loans... Well, the last two didn’t really seem to appealing. Jia didn’t even have any idea what he wanted to study when he left for college; he wasn’t really good at anything particularly useful, and everything he was interested in didn’t really have good job prospects. ...Even more reason for his parents to have done what they did, not to mention one less child to pay tuition. As he laid there, reflecting on all his shortcomings, he wondered why his parents didn’t try to sell him sooner. ...Was it because Yao was finally out of the house?
Jia's moment of self reflection was interrupted by two very strong arms lifting him from the bed and pulling him into a hug. Eyes wide, he glanced upwards at the other bot who had called himself Yong Soo, baffled as to what brought this on.
“Uh, it wasn’t your fault, so like, you don’t have to be sorry,” he insisted, still in a mild state of shock. “But I guess you’re the guy who’s been lookin’ after me since the thing? ...Or something? So it’d make sense to keep it that way, right?”
He had no idea what he was saying or what he’d just agreed to, but holy hell this was a long hug.

"I'm still sorry. I've known you for quite a long time, but I only found out about how you came to be a few days ago. I started plotting and grabbed you to bring you here. You can stay with me as long as you like. I'll take care of you." Finally noticing how stiff Jin was, Yong Soo reluctantlhy let go.
"We should be leaving here soon for another place. It'll be safer and more comfortable then this place here. Go ahead and get ready to go." Yong Soo patted Jin's shoulder and went to the bathroom.
"Hyung?" Yong Soo knocked on the door. "We should get going now. Let me know when you're ready to go."

Though he had absolutely no idea what Yong Soo was talking about, Jia continued to nod, thankful that he at least had somewhere to stay after all of this (whatever ‘this’ was) was over. Maybe he could even start a new life for himself somehow...there were a bunch of places in the lower sectors that hired under aged workers, right?
...He was pretty sure if a society allowed dead people to be made into zombie robots slaves, they’d allow a 16-year-old to work. Then again, this place was pretty fucked up.
“Uh...thanks,” he nodded after the Korean had (finally) let go, offering him a small smile. “...Yong Soo.”
Jia looked around the room, wondering if any of this stuff was supposed to be his...or rather, what his...bot-self owned. It was a hard concept for him to wrap his head around. During all that time between his sparse waking moments, there was a computer program running his brain and body? Did that make him the alternate personality or...?
Shaking his head, Jia rolled off the bed, deciding that everything looked too prim and proper to ever belong to him. He wandered out of the room and checked out the rest of the house, spotting Yong Soo call for someone who seemed to be using the bathroom. As Jia moved to join him, he caught sight of a small kitchen nearby; figuring it wouldn’t hurt to grab something to eat before their trip to wherever, he quietly snuck over to the refrigerator.

Hyung Soo pulled tightly at his hair as he weaved it into his usual braid. So his brother was a robot. That was whored out to some old Russian man. Excellent. It wasn’t even noon, but he sure as hell wanted a scotch right about now. Not that he was a huge fan of alcohol. In fact, normally he would leave drinking to the worst of occasions (i.e. shooting an innocent person, seeing a colleague die) however he figured this fit in the ‘bad news’ category, and so would allow himself the drink.
Deciding it would be best to have later (when in safety) he instead focused on his appearance. He had changed into his regular work uniform (so as to not attract attention when going to the military ‘hide out’). His scalp burned from the force he had pulled on his hair, but it was better than breaking the shower curtain off and going to town on the mirror in front of him. With a slight nod he pulled on his hat and adjusted his visible gun (hiding his favourite below his belt line, and the knife that hung tightly to his leg). He then moved to the closet and pulled out his extra uniforms. Maybe I should give Yong Soo a gun too? Knowing him though he would probably forget the safety and shoot me in joke…
He glanced at the uniforms and shrugged. Normally it would be odd that his two new ‘soldiers’ would be wearing his ranking uniform, however the people in the apartment building were normal civilians with no military history.
He opened the door and nodded at his brother, shoving the clothes into his hands. “Here. People will become more curious if you aren’t wearing this when going into the apartment. And don’t worry if it doesn’t fit your friend, people don’t ask questions. And if they do, they will answer to me.” After hesitating for a moment he pulled out his visible gun and placed it on the clothes, “Keep it under your shirt. I doubt anything will happen, but just in case,” He then gave a small smile, “We’ll see if all those shooting games came in handy.”
Glancing at Jin, the Korean clicked his tongue. “There are chips and dried noodles. Yong Soo will tell you I am a horrid cook, so I normally eat out all the time.” He then nodded to the door, “When you are ready, we will go.”

Yong Soo blinked at the bundle of clothes shoved into his arms, struggling not to drop it. "Kay. Ummmm question Hyung. I get it that no one's gonna ask if you show up with two shoulders in clothes that seem like normal military to me but probably tell you a hundred and ninety eight things about my pretend rank and stuff to you; but aren't they gonna double take at me being practically your twin? Like, your men can pretend to not notice two guys randomly showing up. I just think they're gonna remember you showing up with a clone of yourself. Or maybe they'll think you're a bot too and they just made a second one. I remember when I was like, 15, I went through a phase when I thought you were an alien from one of those bad sci fi movies." Yong Soo admitted as he changed into the clothing. Ick, it was all ironed and stiff.
When the gun was placed in his hand, Yong Soo looked at it warily. "You know I never thought I'd be glad that you forced me to take those self defense classes and beginner gun classes when I was a teenager before now." Making sure the safety was clicked on, he tucked it into his shirt. "And you're just mad that I score higher on all the first person shooters then you do~"
Hearing the fridge door open, Yong Soo dashed the small distance to the kitchen part of the flat. "Wait! Jia, you can't eat. You're an early model and can't synthesize the food particles in that body. If you eat anything, it's gonna come right back up." Tugging Jin away from the fridge, he offered the Chinese bot the other spare outfit. "Here, why don't we get you dressed and on our way. I promise I'll make you something you can eat once we're at the new place and Hyung does some shopping."
