It was a sunny afternoon in Eishoff and Jin was once again accompanying Yong Soo on a seemingly pointless stroll around the Shopping District. It took a while, but the Chinese bot had finally grasped the concept of doing things ‘just because’, without any rhyme, reason, or even purpose. It seemed like a complete waste of energy, but it did make him feel less tense, and being less tense meant better service when it mattered...so it all worked out in the end.
They had spent the entire morning window shopping and buying little things that no one really needed, but looked they cute, so why not? There was even a new ice pop stand that opened the other day, and they were giving out free samples of their more popular flavours. Jin had gotten condensed milk, because he knew it was sweet, despite not being able to taste it – he imagined it must have been very good though.
Eventually, they came across a small, inconspicuous boutique with a very cute window display and various charms hanging across the front entrance. Jin felt like he’d seen something like this before, though didn’t exactly remember having ever been inside. He turned to Yong Soo curiously, automatically wiping off a smudge of melted ice pop from the other bot’s cheek.
“D'you want to check it out?"

Yong Soo slurped down the last of his Sour Apple ice pop and looked at the store Jin was pointing to. He had dragged Jin out to spend some time outside of the penthouse where the Korean stayed with Ivan and Allie rather than the usual goal of testing his prototypes. Lately the blond bot had been acting so nasty to him. Nothing but sour glares and back talk and refusing to help him with his experiments. Not to mention that Allie was getting so much more of Ivan’s attention. Granted keeping Ivan company was the main reason they had bought Allie, but it bothered him a bit more then he wanted to admit to that his father figure was paying more attention to a machine then him.
Not to mention if he found another fork that Kiku had put into the wall, he was going to scream.
“Sure, looks like a cute store.” Yong Soo tossed his ice pop stick into a public treashcan. “It’s a bit weird though. You don’t usually suggest stores to see.”

Having time and some money, Mei decided to go shopping for new accessories. Though none would replace the plum blossom pin, she still needed more for different occasions...that...and she needed to get her mind off searching for her brother relentlessly. It was wearing her out to the point of almost collapse. Not that she wanted to give up no!
She just didn't want to go to a hospital, that was all...
Quietly roaming the streets, occasionally haggling for a cheaper deal on a brush, or a small hair tie, she sighed, noticing a small boutique shop. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight. Well...that was certainly familiar to the shop that Jia and her had went to once...
Shaking her head, she slipped inside, roaming the shelves for something nice to wear. Hmm...
Not noticing the two coming in, Mei continued to roam around the shops, like a ghost haunted the place.

“Is it wrong for me to?” Jin asked, slightly confused. “Just a quick look – then we can get back to...um, whatever it was we were doing before.”
He had no idea what to refer to it as; they weren’t running errands, and they weren’t delivering any messages – they were just...doing things for the sake of doing them. A foreign concept for a bot, but it wasn’t unwelcome, just different.
Jin pushed open the door, a small bell ringing from somewhere above to welcome them. He held it open for Yong Soo and allowed it to swing shut, closing behind them with a faint click. The shorter of the two bots looked around, gravitating towards a small rack of handmade jewelry. Upon closer inspection, everything in the shop seemed to be handmade – pieces were slightly irregular, but also very unique.
He inspected a black beaded bracelet, wondering if it had the same health benefits as traditional magnet jewelry – then he stopped and wondered why a bot would be concerned with health benefits in the first place. His golden gaze shifted to a silver dog tag necklace, left blank for a personal engraving. Jin glanced at Yong Soo briefly and slipped the chain from its hook, holding it out to the Korean.
“This suits you.”

“Nah, it’s not bad at all.” Yong Soo reassured the Chinese bot. “It’s kinda nice actually.” Jin was an older model bot. Because of that, he was limited in the areas of emotions and ‘free thinking’ programming like later models were. He was always pleased when a surprise bit of Jin’s sarcastic humor popped up, or the bot had thoughts that went against his basic programming. “Take you time. We have as long as you want to explore. All we’re really doing is killing time.”
It was a nice, little shop. It was filled with cute knick knacks and unique things. Seemed to be a hand crafted, artsy place. Almost instantly, Jin seemed to make a beeline to the jewelry shelf. Watching the bot look through the pieces, he blinked as a shiny silver tag was held to his face.
“It’s nice.” Yong Soo took it into his hand, inspecting the tag. “But the tags are blank. I guess you’re supposed to get it engraved.” He clinked the tag against the chain, smiling. “What do you think I should put on it Jin?”

Now somewhat bored, Mei sighed then stared at the bracelet in front of her. She didn't really need it, but it was pretty...And it went with the pin! But what if she lost it? Mei frowned then held out her wrist, turning it to and fro, trying to judge whether or not she should get it.
Looking around the shop, she wondered if someone could give her an opinion then made her way to the front desk with the shopkeeper, brushing past the other two in the shop. "Ah, excuse me," she said almost automatically before giving them a small smile and pushing her way to the front desk.
She paused, then turned ever so slightly. One of the boys seemed...rather familiar...? Coincidence maybe?

Jin blinked at the necklace, tilting his head slightly.
“Well, traditionally you’re meant to put your personal information in case your body is found dead during war,” he began, reaching up to inspect the tags. “...Um, but I’ve heard that in modern times, you’re supposed to put something important on them. Like a special date or like, maybe someone’s n–“
The bot paused and stepped aside to allow the girl through, nodding quietly as she passed. Jin looked at Yong Soo for a moment, then back at the girl, eyes widening slightly.
“Uh...”
He turned back to Yong Soo, lowering his voice to barely above a whisper.
"She was the girl at Monsieur Bonnefoy's party," Jin said. "The one who was acting kind of weird..."

“... That would be good, except we’re not at war and I think my bar code would be better identifying me.” He let Jin take the tags back. “I don’t really have anything really special to put on them though.”
Stepping aside to let the girl passed, tilting his head as Jin’s eyes widened a bit. On most people that would be nothing, but for Jin’s usual poker face, it was the same as him gasping aloud.
“The girl at the party?” Yong Soo had to think for a moment. Sure, he had been at the party. Most of his time however, had been spent trying to keep Ivan from catching a glimpse of Kiku. Parties looked different from underneath tables.
“Oh wait. Is she the one who said you were her brother? What ever happened with that anyways?”

Mei began to pay for her items, deciding not to give the other two the attention. It was probably a coincidence. Yes! A mere conicidence that she happened upon her brother.
Or someone that looked like him regardless. She tensed a little, remembering when she had confronted the bot that looked like her brother. She had been so upset that day...That was why she couldn't jump at the chance that this was her brother.
Blinking as the other boy, the one with the curl, spoke about that very party and that moment of confrontation, Mei gasped softly. They were the same people! That boy...that bot that looked so much like her brother was actually here! With her!
She turned, quelling her shaking. "Um, I couldn't help but to overhear..." she spoke politely, or as politely as she could, "But you were talking about a party?"

Jin’s mood fell slightly when Yong Soo mentioned not having anything particularly special to engrave onto the tags, but he quickly forced himself to get over the mild disappointment (or at least act like it didn’t bother him). Shrugging, he placed the dog tags back onto the display and jumped and shook his head in response to the Korean’s question.
“Nothing really...but it was obviously a mistake,” Jin said, taking a few seconds to retrieve their encounter from his memory files and replaying their conversation in his head. “I mean, I can’t be anyone’s brother.”
He jumped when he heard a soft voice behind them, looking over his shoulder to find the very girl they were talking about. She looked somewhat hopeful, but also very nervous, though her expression was noticeably more controlled than it had been at the party. Had she overheard them? He could’ve sworn he had lowered his voice’s volume... Oh well. Nothing they could do about it now.
“Uh...yeah, you were at Monsieur Bonnefoy’s estate a few weeks ago, weren’t you?” he asked, deciding to sidestep the awkward confrontation they had during the event. It wouldn’t be polite to bring up the details and embarrass her in front of Yong Soo after all. “You left kind of quick. Did you have like, indigestion or something? Daddy says French food tends to have that effect on people.”
