Matthew smile to himself as he sat on his bed, putting his boots on with care. Sparing the other in the room a glance while retaining that same smile, "How about you come along, Rai? It'll be fun."
It had only been a short time since Matthew had bought the bot. However, he already began treating him just like any other. It was hard to spot the differences between him and a normal human, unless, of course, one knew about bots, he guessed. Though, this was perhaps just him. His association with bots had been extremely limited before this adventure started. And while Matthew may not agree with what he started to learn about the mysterious entities, he didn't regret buying Rai. The kids liked him and he was also a good companion.
Without much other thought, he got on and walked to the door; grabbing his coat an slipping it on. Waiting to see if the other would join his company.
It was another one of those days where he could go out for a bit. A trip to the mall in the Western sector sounded like a good idea as he fiddled with the envelope within his jacket.
Matthew had been back to the mall a couple times, but seemingly unable to locate the gentleman he had met that day. He was dead set on getting the money back to him one day. [/blockquote]

Most of the time when Matthew would go out, Rai was left behind. He sometimes cleaned, sometimes played with the children, and sometimes he did a few other things. He would just do what Matthew wanted him to do. Besides, Rai was horrible at making decisions himself. So when Matthew had asked if he wanted to come along, Rai wasn’t sure what to do.
He was torn, not knowing what Matthew wanted. It seemed he wanted Rai to go along, but as always he just wasn’t sure. Deciding to take a chance, he nodded and hurried to grab his shoes. He moved quickly as he didn’t want to keep Matthew waiting.
Once he had finished getting ready (it took longer than initially thought, as he kept messing up from going too fast) he ran to the door and stood right beside his owner, smiling up at him. He hoped this was what Matthew wanted.

Ivan had decided to go shopping once more, however, this time it was of his own volition. Allison still didn't have that many things to wear and she was probably getting tired of wearing the same things every day. Luckily though, he figured out the other day that he'd be able to surprise her and go buy her things on his own. When she wasn't paying attention, he stole a peek at her schematics during a tune-up and took note of her sizing information. It was the perfect plan.
With the slip of paper with all of the information folded up neatly in his pocket, he stuck his hand in the opening to secure the paper in his fist one more time... just... to make sure it was there. He didn't want to drop it. It didn't cross his mind that this was the same shopping center he was heading to as the time when he'd thoroughly embarrassed himself in front of Matthew... who he'd yet to see again. That was alright though, the chances of meeting him here again were slim so Ivan put it out of his mind.
All Ivan had to do was figure out which stores sold women's clothing and where they were. He stared at the directory hologram on the wall near the entrance, trying to filter the results to get what he wanted. Hopefully he'd find something she liked. Shopping was... definitely not his strong suit.

Matthew was pleasantly surprised when Rai was by his side and ready to depart. Offering a smile in return, he held the door open for a moment and led the way out; once both outside, locking the door and shoving the keys securely into his pocket. The ride to the Western district was always a mix of pleasant and both odd. It was, at times, difficult to watch the gradual change in society as the bus zoomed by and often stopped at its various markers. The blond mused to himself as he watched the various buildings get bigger and more grandious with each stop. A sight that he never grew tired of, but also wished was everywhere.
For a system that has so many benefits, why can't everyone afford to live comfortably? he thought bitterly to himself. His somewhat idealistic thinking toning itself in his mind.
Not too soon did the ride start and it was over, reaching their destination he got off the bus and waited for his friend to follow; yet again continuing to lead the way until they were finally inside the large building.
It was just as busy as usual and he looked down to the bot by his side. "Anywhere in particular you'd like to visit?" he asked. When he thought about it, this was the first time Matthew had really taken him out. His paranoia with what people might think a constant nag on his mind. Not even realising that perhaps it might have had negative affects on the younger looking bot. [/blockquote]

Rai made sure to stick very close to Matthew on the bus ride. There were so many people he didn’t know on there with them. It made him very on edge. Even though the bus ride was a bit short, it felt like such a long time. Rai was very content to get off the bus.
On the street, there were still more people he didn’t know. However, the people weren’t so close as they were when the two were stuck on the bus. That was a bit reassuring, but it still made Rai a bit jumpy. He stuck close to Matthew, sometimes grabbing a hold of his sleeve of the back of his jacket when they got a bit separated.
“Anywhere in particular you’d like to visit?” Rai thought carefully over this question, but really had no answer. He honestly wasn’t very sure where they were even going. He had only come because he thought that was what Matthew wanted him to do.
He replied quietly with a simple, “No, I don’t think so.” What else was he supposed to say?

Ivan continued to stare at the directory screen, having filtered through to the stores that sold women's clothing. If only they could tell him which one's catered to which types of fashion and price-range. He was an idiot when it came to women's clothing. He didn't know what kind of fashion statement Allison would like to make. Would she desire "punky" fashions or the dark styling of "goth"? Pretty girly clothes with lace? He didn't really know since most of the clothes she had weren't very particular in any trend so far. What was popular at the moment? Would it be bad to buy fancy clothes typical of the wealthy? Ivan groaned and scratched his head in frustration. It wasn't like price was an obstacle, he just wanted to buy her things she would like...
He frowned ever so slightly before deciding that he would just have to make the rounds in the shopping center and check things out as he found them. Maybe he'd just happened upon something that would suit her. That was probably his best bet, at any rate. With a sigh, he turned and looked down the length of the first corridor of the shopping center. One of the stores was supposed to be nearby. If he was really lucky, he'd find something quickly, as he didn't fancy walking around for too terribly long today.

A smile made its way to the Canadian's face everytime Rai grabbed hold of his sleeve from behind. It reminded him so much of the kids and how similar he was to them, really. And eventually, the blond stopped and offered the other his hand to take hold of.
Matthew let out a small, nervous laugh. Well, it made sense in hindsight that the Bot may not have had a preference. In fact, had the other ever been here before? The blonde ventured a guess that that was not the case. "Well, lets walk around then. Maybe we can stop somewhere on the way back for ice-cream?" he held that continued gentle tone in his voice whenever he talked. And truth be told, the offer could have also been due to his own craving for the frosty treat. Though, he may have never admitted it out loud.
He had been beginning to walk down the area when he noted someone familar out of the corner of his eye. Instantly, Matthew stopped and stared for a moment. Would it be rude to walk over and say hi? Maybe that wasnt him at all and his eyes were playing tricks on him. At the same time, he wasnt THAT old.
"Ivan?" he attempted, walking a bit closer towards where the man stood. [/blockquote]

It was much better holding Matthew’s hand than it was to try and keep up with him all the time. Rai was glad when the other had offered his hand and had gladly accepted it. It was easier to not get left behind this way, which made Rai much more comfortable than having to keep grabbing the other’s coat the entire time.
At the mention of ice cream, Rai had tilted his head a bit. It did sound nice. He wasn’t about to just shoot down the idea, and since it didn’t much matter to him either way it seemed better just to agree. So he nodded, responding with a quiet, “Sounds good.”
Rai hadn’t been expecting Matthew to stop, so when he did the bot was pretty surprised. It took a second for him to recover, and when he did he really hoped they had just kept walking. Matthew seemed to be trying to get the attention of a man standing nearby. The man didn't look all that friendly.
When Matthew had started moving closer to the man, Rai hid behind his owner’s back, still holding onto his hand. Rai almost looked frightened of this man by the way he acted. He just didn’t look like all that nice of a person; he even seemed a bit scary.

Walking to the nearest store in the shopping center and trying not to look like a weirdo while shopping for women's clothes had initially been his plan, however, an oddly familiar voice called his name. Not many people called him by his first name. Yong Soo. Allison. Francis. Arthur. The nice fellow Timo from the flower fields. This voice didn't belong to any of those people. Who else would address him by his first name? Ivan, having stopped in his tracks at being called, turned some to half-face the caller. His eyes widened just slightly.
Oh.
Matthew.
How could he have forgotten? It wasn't a bad "oh", just a surprised "oh", as though he should have remembered this young man's name. He was such a nice boy, too, you'd think that would have made a firmer impression on the aging man, especially since he had a small attack right in front of him. How could he forget like that? That wasn't very nice of his brain. Luckily though, his smiling facade didn't falter this time. He wouldn't let himself get nervous and show how truly inept he was with people, not like last time. That had been a disaster.
"Здравствуй, Matffew~" he said, trying to keep it slightly more informal, considering they were, somehow, on a first name basis. Having not noticed the little sprout hiding behind Matthew, Ivan continued, "How haff you been?" That was a normal enough question, right?

Matthew smiled when the taller male seemed to recognise him. A sense of relief washing over him at the realisation that he hadn't mistook the man for anyone else. "It's nice to see you again." the blond nodded in response, looking behind him when he felts his hand move to a rather odd angle. Matthew smiled down at the other as well, "It's okay." he whispered, trying to coax the other out of hiding before turning his attention back to the man in front of him.
"Been well, thank you. But, how about yourself? Feeling any better?" a hint of concern laced his voice. The other suddenly left last time, and while Ivan certainly didn't seem as distraught as the last time, he still felt the need to ask. [/blockquote]

Rai really hadn’t wanted to come out of hiding, but Matthew’s words seemed to sound like that is what he wanted. So Rai had, very cautiously of course, stepped out from behind his owner. He had honestly regretted agreeing to come along with his owner. Rai just hated the fact that he had no idea who this other man was.
As the two talked, Rai had stayed completely silent, looking down at the ground and still holding Matthew’s hand tightly. He hoped this conversation would hurry along quickly.

Ivan felt a little uncomfortable at the mention of his past... episode that poor Matthew had been unfortunate enough to witness. He'd actually hoped that the young man had forgotten. That entire day had been a horribly embarrassing fiasco, at any rate. A slight flash of color went through his face before it was forced away by his usual, meaningless smile. "I am much better, thank you~" he said, before trying to distract the conversation from that particular topic. "Is goot that you are also well, Matffew. What brinks you her-"
After a moment, Ivan noticed a young being being tugged out from behind Matthew's back, catching the aging man's attention. Oh, what sweet looking little boy! Maybe he was Matthew's cousin or nephew. Ivan assumed that Matthew was too young to have children of his own, figuring that this little fellow being the young man's son would be highly improbable. He smiled at the boy, who seemed... uncomfortable. Ivan hoped it wasn't his fault. "'Allo," he prompted quietly, "Who are you? Relatiff off Matffew's~?" Maybe the kid was just shy... or something. Matthew wasn't exactly very extroverted himself so maybe it was a family trait.

Matthew flashed the other a smile. "Glad to hear it." That was definitely good news, he had been worried about the other. And, it was almost a relief that he was out and about that should have been the indicator that he was alright.
Sparing a glance down towards Rai, the grip on his hand having tightened; Matthew laughed a but nervously, "You could say that."
Giving the bot a quick and comforting squeeze with his hand, he encouraged the other to introduce himself. [/blockquote]
