Why was she yelling? It was obvious that she was special to him. She was the only companion bot he'd ever owned. He shrugged some, not bothered enough to hush her as she pulled him into the hallway and through the door at the end of it. The automatic door to the rest of the complex slid shut behind them with a mechanical whir, locking itself. There was a keypad on their side of the door anyway, so he could get out if he wanted to.
"Hm? Oh, this is where we shall be permanently~" Sitting down on the couch in the living room of the elaborate apartment, he sighed, relaxing. "Do you like it? I hope it is nice enough for you~" He knew some women could be picky about their surroundings if they weren't... wealthy-seeming enough, but Allison was a bot. She was his bot. She probably didn't care and there was no question that he could probably burn a quarter of his money and still have grossly excessive funding for whatever he wanted or needed. Ivan hoped she would like it... He wanted Allison to be happy...

Compared to Ivan’s large penthouse, this apartment felt small and cramped. While that didn’t bother Allie, the thing that did was that they were underground. They were underground, there were no windows and Ivan wanted to live here permanently. Putting their suitcases on the floor, Allie sighed softly and walked around slowly, before turning back to Ivan.
“Permanently…? But… Ivan… I’m solar powered! There are no windows h-here and no sunlight… H-How am I s-supposed to charge? O-Or am I supposed to just… power down forever?” Despite Ivan’s reassurances, Allie was still not completely convinced that he did not want to abandon her in a place like this.

"Oh, do not worry, there is a solar lamp in the bedroom." There was only one bedroom in the apartment, but he had lived by himself for years so he never thought he would need another one. She would be perfectly fine. Why was she so worried? He worked hard to take care of her and protect her. That was why he'd brought her here in the first place.
There was nothing to worry about here and it could be a perfect little world for her. She wouldn't have to be stressed or risk shorting her circuits. They would never be found and they would have anything they could ever need here in their own little paradise. He wouldn't be alone and she would be safe and happy. Maybe he could even program some bots to make fake television programs for them to watch since he was sure the news proper would only give away too much information. Yes... That would be a perfect idea... He would have Gladys get on that before the night was out.

“O-Oh…” Maybe Ivan really wasn’t going to get rid of her, Allie thought, as she glanced around the room once more. With a sigh, she walked to a door and opened it, peeking into the bedroom. Not even the sight of one bed cheered her up, because she was sure that Ivan would not want to share and there was no way that she would make him sleep on the floor. That would be rude and not proper for a bot. She would sleep on the floor. It wasn’t like it mattered because she was just a bot…
Allie glanced back at Ivan and tried to smile at him. “I… I l-like it.” Lying was okay, as long as it made Ivan happy.

Ivan gave her a grin, glad that she liked the apartment. Good. That meant things would probably work out nicely. Sure, they probably had to share a bed now, but that didn't bug him. He could just stay on his side of the bed and she would be fine.
He checked the time, pulling out his rPhone to do it. Hm... It was almost ten at night. He knew that he hadn't had dinner yet and it was getting rather late. Any moment now, he knew that Allison would be telling him that he needed to eat and go to bed after supper. That was just the way it was. Oh well, maybe he could he sneak away to the kitchen to make himself some tea before she caught him.
Ivan flipped his phone shut and put it away before pulling himself to his feet with a groan. Tea sounded lovely.

Despite her programming reminding her that it was time for Ivan to eat dinner, Allie couldn’t bring herself to say anything. She turned off the alert and went to sit on the bed, staring at the windowless wall. This building unnerved her and she knew that she was just supposed to be a bot… She wasn’t supposed to be upset about things and she was just supposed to follow orders. But being down here, with Ivan acting so strangely, frightened her.
Maybe she really was glitchy but she didn’t care. All she wanted was for Ivan to act normal toward her again, for him to smile at her when she brought him tea instead of dragging her to some strange place without explaining anything… She could hear Ivan get up but Allie continued to sit there, staring at the wall.
Would any of this have been different if she was human?
