Name: Hyung Soo Im
Age: 23
Nationality: Korean (North)
Birthday: June 20
Occupation: Military official
Upper, Middle, or Lower Class?: Upper class, though living in a lower class environment.
Attitude Towards Bots?: Hyung Soo sees them as useless workers in a world vastly over populated and highly unemployed.
Appearance:
Hyung Soo Im stands around 5”7 and has tanned skin, along with brown eyes. Growing up, people mistook him and his brother as twins. He has long black hair that he normally keeps tied in a braid. Soo has one stray hair that never seems to stay down, and oddly enough it bends and twists to almost create a small face. Normally it looks like someone scowling, however every now and again someone will swear they saw some sort of smile.
Hyung Soo likes to wear his uniform most often as he feels the most comfortable in it. He has kept his various uniforms over his different ranks, and therefor can switch into other uniforms when he sees it fit. Normally his military uniform consists of dark green military pants and a jacket, along with shin high black boots. He wears his hat with pride, and though he won’t admit it, it is one of his favourite

[x] Justice-Im finds great pleasure in seeing hardened criminals brought to justice. He believes that if you work hard enough, then you can bring the just desserts to any individual. This applies to all, as he sees no difference in White and Blue collar crime.
[x] Respect- Hyung Soo believes that everyone deserves respect, until their actions demonstrate otherwise.
[x] American music- Though he won’t say it out loud, he enjoys American music from the 60’s and 70’s.
[x] His brother- Hyung Soo misses his brother deeply. Though they didn’t always get along or see eye to eye, he is the only person Im felt closest to.
Dislikes
[x] Injustice- Im has no tolerance for corruption and disrespect. Working in the military, he has seen not only what civilians will do to their children, sisters and brothers, but also how the corrupt officials will look away for only a handful of cash. He is defiantly not a man you want to try to bribe.
[x] Power- Soo has seen what power does to people. He hates people who always seem to grab a hold of power, only to destroy the good around them. He knows inside that as he rises in rank, he himself becomes more powerful. He hopes when that day comes, he will also be brought to justice.
[x] Drunkenness- He believes it is immature to not know your alcohol limit.
[x] Prostitution- Living in the lower areas of the world, Soo has seen good men and women throw their bodies away for money. He thinks it is the lowest of the low to engage in these services and deeply wishes the government would do something to abolish this humiliating job.
Strengths
[x] Public speaking- Im is quite talented in riling people up and motivating them to perform. It is a reason he has moved along in the ranks so quickly for someone so young, as he has a way with his fellow soldiers. Though he is not the most likable person, he is someone people generally listen to.
[x] The system- Hyung Soo is very knowledgeable on how the ‘system’ works, as in the government, power, and the lower class. With this he has brought men within his ranks to justice, but also has destroyed various drug lords that have tried to take him on.
Weaknesses
[x] ‘Right’ and ‘Wrong’- Hyung Soo thinks he knows what is good and what is bad, and therefor doesn’t quite understand if what he is doing is not for the greater good. He believes that he has the right to decide what is good and evil, and even though he has lived in the system for so long, he sometimes forgets that the world is more ‘grey’ than ‘black and white’.
[x]Power- Though he tries desperately to watch himself, Hyung Soo is slowly becoming a high ranking individual. Before he only had the power to stop a few drug dealers. Now he has the power to crush many people if he wants to. He hopes the stakes will be with him, but knows that soon he will be just as bad as those he hunts.

Personality:
Hyung Soo does not smile a lot. He often has a kind of ‘neutral’ face, and when frustrated or confused he will scowl. When he does smile, it is actually quite pleasant (perhaps because it is not there often). He is a serious man, finding little time to socialise with people. Due to this, he doesn’t have any friends (though, he does have coworkers, who he will every now and again make a joke with). Hyung isn’t lonely though because it is just in his personality to be alone. He finds it easier that way. People are very distracting, and need constant attention and love. It is like owning a dog. Nice, but a bit pointless if you don’t have the time.
Hyung Soo is also a rather angry man, though it is not very outwardly obvious. It instead festers inside his core, and so it is always there. Due to this he is known to snap orders, and when he does allow it to come forth even the strongest of men will cower. It is a controlled anger however, not like when men are known to get mad and beat their wives or kick furniture.
Hyung Soo is not a crule man. He doesn’t find pleasure in people being miserable. He does find pleasure in ‘bad’ people being brought to justice, but never innocent people. He will look out for people he deems ‘innocent’, though it might not be incredibly obvious.
Something to know about him though is that he is rather shy (shockingly) when it comes to relationships or any notions of love. He will blush and actually get flustered if someone shows him any sort of romantic compassion. He is also very old fashioned when it comes to love, and so has not, as he says ‘touched anyone, and will remain untouched myself’ until he is married. Oddly enough, he is unfazed when having to deal with prositutes (as the women will attempt to flirt with himself and his coworkers). In this sense he is his normal, cold self, unfazed by them. It seems only if love is there he has no idea what to do, and becomes like a boy again.
History:
Hyung Soo was born to a middle class family. He was the first son, and so learned to accept the responsibility that came with being the eldest. However, when most children are pushed they have a tendency to experience a kind of rebellion, at least once in their life. Hyung Soo’s came at a young age, only nine, when he and a few of his friends decided to test the system.
The border between the North and South was not as heavily guarded as it had been in the past, however relations still were not exactly on the friendliest of terms. With a childish dare Soo managed to climb the fence. By some sheer stroke of luck he had made it over the barbed wire and onto the other side- only for a guard to meet him.
His parents, embarrassed and humiliated beyond words, allowed the government to punish Hyung Soo as it saw fit. And so, at a young and tender age Hyung Soo was sent to the North to a military camp, in order to have some discipline and respect engraved into him.
Many people learn to accept this fate and merely move with the tide. Im watched as the other boys around him became obedient and learnt what to say and do. They were like sheep, or better yet, like hot metal; shaped this way and that. Hyung Soo saw things differently however. He began to thrive in the environment because he not only was obedient, but he also learnt to lead the others, to follow orders but think on his feet. With this kind of character he quickly flourished and moved quickly through the ranks of the system. With joy he managed to bring back the honour he had previously lost to his parents.
Through all these years Hyung Soo was allowed to keep in touch with his brother. He was forbidden to speak any word of his job, but he didn’t need to. His brother spoke enough in the letters for both of them. Im looked forward to these letters, as they always made him laugh. A few times he was able to visit his home and his brother, and they would stay up late in the night discussing things. Sometimes they would argue (Hyung could not even begin to understand his brother’s love of robots) but other times they would laugh. Few people could make him laugh, and so with every letter his love for his brother grew.
And that is why the last letter he received was possibly the worst of all. Yong Soo had been in an accident. He was unable to move. Immediately leaving his work due to a family emergency, Hyung Soo tried to get home as soon as possible. His brother had always been so lively (and talkative). To think he could not run around like he had loved, the thought was too unbearable.
But that was not the worst news.
For when Hyung Soo finally made it to the hospital, his mouth barking useless orders in order to find some kind of medicine that could help his baby brother, it was too late.
The bed was empty.
His mother sat nearby crying.
With a bitter expression his father gave the barest of details. ‘Yong Soo is dead to us.’
Hyung asked what, why, and how this could have happened. It was a good hospital. His condition was stable at least.
But his father would answer no questions. He would only repeat ‘Yong Soo is dead to us.’
Not ‘my son’ or ‘your brother’, only Yong Soo.
Hyung Soo demanded to see the body, at one point he even lost control and threw the bed over, screaming at the nurse to take him to the morgue. He had the authority. Could she see his badges? But she was just as bad as his father, lying to him saying they didn’t have the body. That Yong Soo had left. He was gone.
For the next month Hyung Soo went off the radar. He tried to stay with his parents, but it was unbearable. They refused to hold a funeral. They refused to speak of his brother.
This of course made Hyung think the absolute worse, that either his baby brother’s body was kidnapped or perhaps he had caught a disease so horrible no one could go near the body.
It made no difference though, because the end was the same. He was gone. And so Hyung Soo grieved and wallowed in his despair. His anger would flare up and he would lose control, destroying innocent objects. He would scream at no one. His heart burned from the fact that with all this power he had built up; all this authority he had slaved to earn he couldn’t even save the one thing important to him.
The government found him (or did he let them?) and they coaxed him back. After all, what else did he have? And so he buried himself in his job.
Recently he found himself flying to Eishoff and stationing himself there. Now he works for the government. He watches the outside and inside system, looking for cracks and corrupt people. With his skills and knowledge in the financial system and after working in so many places, he has learned how to take down certain people.
He now lives in the lower end of town, creating his own territory of safety. The drug lords and pimps don’t come into his ‘territory’, because they know that, they can work guns, but Hyung Soo can work the system.

Hyung Soo quickly saluted before closing the door behind him, his superior giving a low grunt as he chewed on his morning muffin, his chair creaking under his weight.
“I see you have some reports.”
“Yes sir.”
“Well let’s have it then.” Im took two steps and placed the envelope on the desk, quickly stepping back and awaiting orders. The older gentleman in front of him sighed slightly as he flipped lazily through the papers, “The usual then?”
“You could say that sir.”
The man continued to look through the papers before he gave a sort of snort.
“And this then? What’s all this about ‘Melsburry avenue’ then?”
“A shop has opened there that, upon further investigation is a brothel.”
“It’s an escort service Im. It’s in the nice part of town.”
“If you don’t mind my saying, it is still illegal to sell people for sex.” The man shrugged and threw the papers onto the desk, leaning back bordly in his chair.
“Yes but they’re not people, so it doesn’t matter.”
“Sir?”
“The employees are bots.” Hyung Soo took a moment to register the thought before his face scrunched up. His superior let out a laugh, “What’s with the face? Don’t you know that’s what a lot of them are for?”
“Sir, with all due respect, the idea of someone making love to a…machine is rather…”
“You make it sound like someone doing their car.” This time Hyung Soo gave the smallest of shrugs.
“Men get lonely in the military I suppose.”
