Dear Members,
It has been noticed that there are many threads that seem deceased yet are not listed as finished. This announcement is a reminder to members that if you have a thread that you and the other members in the thread are finished with, please alert the staff so that it can be locked and moved to the archives.
Also, if you are having a hard time remembering if there are any threads where it is your turn to post, you might consider making a post log thread to keep track of things. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or beautiful, it can be simple. These are not a requirement, but just a suggested tool should you need help keeping track of what you were doing. These can be also useful if you think you might be nearing the ten-day mark, so you can check to see if there is anything you can update.
If you do not have any threads that need updating and you are approaching your ten-day, check for open threads that you might be able to jump into and/or create your own open thread. Three are many opportunities available to make sure you meet your ten-day, you just have to look for them. :)
If you are having a difficult time writing your posts, please remember that while we technically do not have a minimum post size requirement, around two good solid paragraphs should work. In some cases, even one nice paragraph will be fine. However, you may certainly write more if you wish to, but it is not a requirement. In the case of this particular board, expediency may be preferred over length, at least for the time being as we are trying to move the main plot forward.
New threads can also be made that skip ahead in time, which is useful if another plot relevant thread is currently stuck for whatever reason. It may also, incidentally, behoove you to write 'doodles' somewhere when you post in the next activity check. However, make sure that any assumptions you make in the skipped thread are okay with other people that are mentioned in it, so that you don't accidentally pigeon-hole them.
By the way, having threads you are in that are not finished, but have not updated in time for you to make the ten-day is called being "thread-locked."
Good luck and keep up the good work.
