Name: Lovino Vargas
Age: 23
Nationality: Italian
Birthday: March 17th
Occupation: An errand boy, sent around town on deliveries by many different shops. He also spends his evenings pickpocketing people and stealing from his daytime bosses.
Upper, Middle, or Lower Class?: Very much lower class, at the moment. Though he grew up in a wealthy family, he had to leave home and has been destitute ever since.
Attitude Towards Bots?: He’s suspicious of them. Something about bots makes Lovino’s skin crawl, and he always tries to avoid coming into contact with them. When he does happen to meet them, he is blatantly rude (though he’s usually that way to most people, it’s just more vicious towards bots).
Appearance: Lovino is 5’8”, though he likes to tell people he’s 5’10”. His skin is nicely tanned, and he has short, dark brown hair that falls into his amber eyes. He has a single flyaway curl that cannot be tamed with any amount of brushing or gel. He’s thin from being a little underfed, but his muscles are wiry, and he’s stronger than he looks.
Despite his meager income, Lovino craves stylish clothing. Even if his clothes are a bit worn, they are usually at least marginally classy, and he finds a way to make even his patched outfits look stylish however he can.
Likes
[x] Tomatoes – they’re his favorite food, and he puts them in almost everything he eats. He’s very greedy about them, and doesn’t usually share.
[x] Pretty women — he has a weakness for ladies, and can be quite the charmer, unless he gets flustered for some reason.
[x] Cooking – cooking is one of the only things that truly helps him relax. As such, he tends to make his own lunch every morning, and cook his own supper in the evenings.
[x] Stealing— Lovino gets a thrill whenever he manages to steal something, especially if it’s from one of his bosses. He’s a bit of a kleptomaniac, so value doesn’t always matter in what he steals.
[x] Fashion – this is one of the main reasons Lovino decided to be an errand boy; he likes to walk down the street and admire the fashionable clothes that the upper class are wearing, and that are in the display windows of high-end shops. He hopes someday to own stuff like that for himself.
Dislikes
[x] Bots— they creep him out for some reason, and he doesn’t like them at all.
[x] German food – Lovino is very picky, and refuses to eat most non-Italian food, but has a particular loathing for German dishes.
[x] Authority – Lovino has a huge discipline problem, which can cause some friction with his bosses; however, he is charismatic and does his work very well, so he doesn’t usually get fired.
[x] Contact – being a bit paranoid, Lovino does not enjoy hugs or other forms of close contact.
[x] Disdain – Lovino feels disrespected by a lot of people, considering his social status and smaller stature. This lends to his constantly sour attitude.
Strengths
[x] Quick-witted – Although not knowledgeable, Lovino has a great amount of street-smarts, and is able to figure out ways out of sticky situations quickly, due to all of his experiences.
[x] Charismatic – When he isn’t being insulting, Lovino has a certain charm to him that draws people in. He has found several uses for it, all of which he esteems essential to his survival. Among these are flirting with ladies, calming down his irate bosses, and distracting people while he pickpockets them.
Weaknesses
[x] Cowardly – Despite showing a brave front, Lovino can be a bit of a wimp. He can act tough when he’s not in immediate danger, but faced down with someone mentally and physically stronger than him, he will cower like a child.
[x] Inferiority complex— Lovino is easily discouraged, and usually feels he can’t do a lot of things right. He detests being shown up by anyone, because it scrapes away at his already minimal self-worth. He’s unfriendly not only to protect himself in his low-class environment, but also because he believes no one will like him anyway.

Personality: Lovino is sweet to women, but callous and rude to men. He acts disdainful to people, despite the fact that he actually has a large inferiority complex. While often scared by those tougher than him, Lovino will usually put up a brave or angry front. Due to his complex, he is incredibly susceptible to affection of any kind, even though he’s very skeptical and cynical. If someone shows genuine care over him, he will grow fond of them quickly, even when it is a huge mistake and will cause him endless trouble. He can’t help it.
When dealing with people he feels himself above, or who he knows he is stronger than, Lovino has a short temper, and doesn’t accept stupidity at all. He tends to shout a lot, and has a veritable rainbow of curse words in his vocabulary.
He’s very paranoid, which has served him well, and his instincts about people are almost never wrong. He’s jaded, and very quick to think the worst of people. Due to this, he never goes anywhere without what is probably his prized possession; his trusty pocketknife. He would feel safer with a gun, but he has had to make do, and as such has formed a strong attachment to the weapon that has saved his life several times.
History: Lovino is Feliciano’s older brother, but hasn’t seen him since he was a child. In fact, Feliciano never actually knew about Lovino, though Lovino knew about him. Actually, though he does count Feliciano as his brother, and is fond of him despite not really knowing him, they are really only half-brothers. Lovino is actually an illegitimate child, thus the reason he was not allowed to take part in the Vargas family openly.
He hated this, and was jealous of Feliciano, even though it contrasted with his brotherly feelings of overprotection. At last, at age twelve, when Feliciano was only nine, Lovino ran away and didn’t look back. He took only one thing with him; one of his grandfather’s prized pocketknives, which has served him well ever since. Even as a child, Lovino knew a lot about the inner workings of the Vargas family. Since he had no one to look after him, he had taken to wandering around, which bred his lock-picking and eavesdropping skills. He picked up on mafia language quickly, and learned quite well just what his family was known for.
He left before bots were first invented, but as he traveled across Italy trying to avoid his family, who suspected he might just know too much, he saw them. And each one chilled him to the bone. Whenever he passed one that looked vaguely familiar, as if perhaps they had passed in the hallway once, or he had seen them on the street… Or seen their picture in the Vargas family’s file-folder of hit targets.
When bots began getting even more popular, Lovino took it in himself to find a way out of the country. He had to get out, and get away, and he did. Stowing away on a passenger ship sending Italians to colonize Antarctica and the city Eishoff. Once there, he had a bit of trouble finding a job, and had to settle for low-paying errand jobs. He detested all of his bosses, who he felt were looking down on him, and then proceeded to steal things from them, which has become an enjoyable habit for him. Beyond that, he has gotten into several scrapes in Eishoff; he has been attacked by thugs many times, though he’s not sure why, but has successfully beaten off any and all attackers with his trusty pocketknife. As of yet, he has not had to face down a gun of any sort.
RP Sample: Lovino blinked once. Twice. They were serious, it seemed. They really were. It was a small gang of pimple-faced teens with crooked teeth and ratty clothes and no weapons whatsoever. Oh, yes, they were serious.
“Come with you? For what reason?” he scoffed.
Though he was outnumbered five to one, these kids were no more than snot-nosed brats. Lovino smirked at them and shrugged, putting his hands casually into his pockets, the right one clenching around his trusty pocketknife. Even if they were kids… If they didn’t learn their place fast, he’d teach them.
“This is a kidnapping!” one of the punks explained indignantly. “We’re gonna sell you to D-”
One of the other kids cut him off with an elbow to the ribs. Lovino quirked an eyebrow. D. What was he going to say? … It didn’t matter. Not really. Lovino shrugged again and pulled the knife from his pocket casually, flicking it open. As soon as a sliver of moonlight hit the blade, the kids scattered, shouting at each other. Lovino rolled his eyes.
This sort of thing had been happening more often… Just why were people so keen on kidnapping others…? His mind flicked briefly to bots before the shudder in his shoulders forced him to turn his thoughts to other things. No. There was nothing to do with bots here. Nothing.
