He wasn't going to deny it to himself, being called "Mister Ivan" was getting on his nerves a bit. It felt weird. That was probably because he was used to being called by his family name or "Ivan Nikolayevich" by people that knew better. He'd probably just tell Allison later that his name and patronymic would be appropriate in public and just "Ivan" would be alright back home.
However, once she held his elbow, his thoughts were interrupted once more a certain music selection being played by the young bot leading the way. Was that... romantic music? Oh... oh, no... That was awkward. People would think he was lecherous old man who engaged in relationships with non-human bots! He felt his pulse rate jump, but not high enough to trip his internal EKG into making that really annoying beeping noise. One person thought he was a time bomb from that once. That had been a real fiasco.
It was only worsened when Jin made references to... keeping each other warm and/or having hot chocolate. Ivan wasn't sure if Jin was saying those things because he legitimately meant them or if he was just trying to make things awkward. Ivan merely kept his mouth shut and tried to smile along, hoping the awkwardness would pass as they neared the Whole Foods. Hot chocolate did sound nice though...

Allie stayed silent, though she was genuinely curious about the music selection that Jin had chosen. It sounded like the music that was always in romance movies or something like that. So why would Jin be playing music like that? No one here was being romantic or anything unless… that’s what Jin wanted her and Ivan to do? The thought made her face burn and she clutched her shopping bag tighter, trying to shut down that program. When they got back home, she would see if there was a way to stop the program from starting up so often. It was downright embarrassing!
Thankfully, they arrived at the grocery store fairly soon, so Jin had to turn his music off. Except now he was talking about staying warm together or something and just confusing Allie even more. She glanced over at Ivan, wondering what he wanted to do. So, she decided to make a suggestion.
“If you’re cold, Mister Ivan, I can get some of this… hot chocolate for you?” If it was hot, then it would keep her owner warm, because she didn’t want Ivan to get too cold. While she could feel temperature changes, she was not as affected by them as humans were.

Jin shrugged, looking a bit exasperated with the brick wall that apparently existed between these two and normal social protocol. Honestly, even he could detect teasing and sarcasm if presented with it. ...Maybe he was just that well programmed.
"You two could like, even share the hot chocolate. I think they only give one per person because they're really stingy like that, you know? It'll be nice, I think~"
He entered the store quickly after that, overriding his desire to see the look on their faces with the even more important command to not get torn into several pieces. The bot grabbed a small shopping basket and headed for the baking aisle, pulling up a programmed list of all the brands Arthur preferred, as well as the ones he believed were evil. Because...it was just a useful list to have. [/blockquote]

Ivan felt color run to his face before pulling the cloth of the scarf up over it. Nope, no one was going to see that, thank you. While his expression did break the calm demeanor he kept up, his mind was rolling around, absolutely flabbergasted. Why was Jin... telling them to... Why was he encouraging... Ivan didn't even.... His brain wasn't really functioning initially until it registered that Allison had offered to get the hot chocolate for him. Well... he was alright but... it did sound nice and maybe she would like some of it.
"Is goot idea, thank you, Ji-" His words were cut off when he noticed that Jin had already disappeared into the store. Well then... He could only guess that this was done on purpose... for whatever reason. He kept his usual smile, albeit a bit more shy in shape when he looked back at Allison. "Well... I guess we coult haff hot chocolate then... I see no harm in it~"

Staring after Jin as he went into the store, Allie tried to figure out what to do. She had already offered to get some hot chocolate for Ivan, so she supposed she would do that. But she wasn’t sure about the sharing part… Was it normal to share hot chocolate? What was hot chocolate anyway? Frowning, she gently led Ivan over to the sign proclaiming “HOT CHOCOLATE” and watched the people making it. So, it was a drink…
“Is… hot chocolate good?” Allie had had chocolate before and enjoyed it very much, so maybe she would like this drink too. Although she wouldn’t ask for any of Ivan’s, because it was supposed to be for him, to keep him warm. This was when she realized that she was still holding onto Ivan’s arm and she felt that stupid program kick in, turning her face red again. She quickly let go of his elbow, deciding to hug her shopping bag close and try not to make so much of a fool of herself.

Jin went through the many aisles methodically, wasting no time in filling his shopping basket with the sweet and savoury ingredients he and Arthur needed for the cake. He hesitated in the bot care aisle, wanting to buy another pack of oil boxes (like juice boxes, except with oil) before they ran out. They even had his favourite flavour, Premium.
But once again, he had to resist - his owner wouldn't appreciate the 120 eco units missing from his bank account.
Finally, Jin made it into the dairy aisle, which he always saved for last due to the quality of its products being temperature sensitive.
"You know, I never really understood the name of this product," Jin said, holding up a small yellow tub for the other two to see. "If the manufacturers of this solidified vegetable oil cannot believe that their product is, in fact, not butter, then why are they advertising it as a substitute? Weird, right?"

Allison's lack of knowing about hot chocolate was oddly endearing, Ivan thought when she'd go of his arm as they'd neared the little stand giving away the warm drink. Well, she'd just have to try some of it to really know for sure, but as a general rule, he supposed he could say that hot chocolate was tasty... or "good" as she asked specifically. He paused for a moment before nodding in response.
It took hardly any time at all for him to essentially mime to the stand worker that he would have liked one of their hot chocolates, please, considering they were essentially just passing them out to those without any visible serial numbers denoting a lack of legal humanity. Holding the one he'd been allotted, he walked back towards where Allison had let go of him. Well, she seemed to be genuinely curious about the substance earlier, so... Ivan reasoned she should have the first sip at the very least. He was more than willing to let her have the whole thing since he wasn't exactly in the mood for it anyway. With his typical smile, he held the warm cup out to her to take. It had a little liner on the outside so it would not burn whoever was holding it. "Это жарко," he warned. It would do her no good to get herself burned, despite being a bot. He'd have to repair her sensors and that was always such a hassle to do for any bot.
Now that they were in the store, though, he noticed something brightly colored moving over towards the diary aisle and holding up something, talking in their direction. Oh! Jin wanted to show them something. He nodded again and started walking towards the young bot they were escorting, after putting his hand on the back of Allison's shoulder to try to steer her in that direction. Ivan hadn't quite heard all of what the youthful bot said, only catching something about butter and advertising. He tilted his head to the side once they were near enough. "Eh?"
(( Это жарко = This is hot ))

Allie watched as Ivan went over to the hot chocolate stand, leaving her standing off to the side. She sighed softly, wondering why that program was being so strange. Curious as to what it was, she pulled it up and started analyzing it. Well, it seemed to be a program for ‘blushing,’ which was a reaction that humans had, generally toward something embarrassing. That just sounded like a hassle. Why would anyone want to openly show their embarrassment? That would defeat the purpose of hiding the fact that they were embarrassed. Frowning, Allison tried to figure out what she should do with the program when Ivan was suddenly in front of her, holding out the drink.
Looking up at him, she shifted her shopping bag to one hand and took the drink, looking at it. It smelled good… Being careful of the heat, Allie took a hesitant sip. At first, the only thing her sensors picked up was the heat but then the chocolate taste was registered and she smiled. It was very yummy! She was about to tell Ivan this when she felt his hand on her back, leading her over to Jin. The contact made her blush program kick in again and she stared at the drink, hoping that the other two wouldn’t notice.

Jin's eye twitched, not wanting to repeat what he had said. It was the suddenness of the statement that made it endearing after all, and saying it again was just...no.
"It's butter, but it's n- Oh, never mind," Jin sighed, tossing it back into the refrigerated case and sweeping an entire row of unsalted butter into his shopping cart. "I'm done, you can go wait outside if you want, I can finish this by myself. You'd like that, right? Just the two of you, outside? Really, that's why I offered just coming here by myself to begin with."
He shouldered the small shopping basket and headed for the shortest line at the cashier's, waiting quietly behind a large man who was buying a cart's worth of powdered doughnuts and soap. He didn't know why he was so frazzled; after all, he was used to Arthur not listening to him - his owner was a busy man, and had more important things to do than spend time with him. Jin just had to keep reminding himself that he was at the bottom - not just to Arthur, but to all humans and all bots. That way he'd keep himself from getting so flustered.

Ivan felt his smile weaken almost enough to be a flat line. Jin was certainly... moody today. Normally he was so monochromatic with his emotional palette. That a bit ruder than he was used to out of Arthur's bot. Why was he being this way, Ivan wondered. He narrowed his eyes just enough to show his distaste for the behavior. "Хорошо..." he said, voice somewhat less... light and carefree than it usually was, but not enough for the casual observer to notice. If Jin wanted to be by himself, then he could. Allison didn't need to be around that sort of influence.
With a curt nod, he turned and tried to gently steer his newest bot back towards the door. Ivan would certainly have to have a talk with Arthur about his bot's less than acceptable behavior. In the meantime though, they would just wait outside to escort Jin for a ways home until their time to go separate directions arrived. He kept his arm around Allison's shoulders protectively, for the moment forgetting his sense of propriety.
(( Хорошо = good/well ))

Watching as Jin brushed them off, Allie tilted her head to the side, wondering what was wrong with the other bot? Had he decided that he did not like them? Was that why he was behaving this way? Ivan didn’t seem too happy with the way Jin was acting, so maybe something had gone wrong and she had just been too caught up in thoughts of her stupid programs to notice. Before she could ask Ivan what had happened, her owner was leading her outside with his arm around her shoulders.
Blushing at how close they were, Allie decided to just go with it because she had wanted Ivan to pay more attention to her earlier. Once they were outside, she sipped at the hot chocolate again before holding it out to Ivan. “Would you like some? You have more need for its warmth than I do, after all.”

Jin was left to mull in the aftermath of his outburst, slightly relieved that the other two had taken his ‘gentle’ suggestion to wait outside. He analysed his previous actions bit by bit, trying to figure out just what it was that made him snap at them – he wasn’t too concerned about putting off the other bot, but doing that to a human was near criminal in his mind. Must have been something in the environment... That had to be it.
When he reached the front, Jin paid for the groceries with Arthur’s card, allowing the cashier to scan his own serial number in order to verify that he was authorised to use his owner’s card. After neatly placing his groceries in two large paper bags, the small bot slipped them into his arms and attempted to carry them out by himself, stumbling a bit as he did so. Butter was, apparently, very heavy. Who knew?
“I’ve paid for my things. Are you going to walk me home, or is this where we say goodbye?” he asked simply, facing them, but not looking directly at either. “I apologise for my behaviour earlier; I think I was standing at a wifi hotspot that messed up with my circuitry. I’m okee now though – if I worried you, which I probably didn’t.”
Jin hopped again to get a better grip on the slipping bags, like a little robotic bunny.

Ivan shook his head and waved his hand some in response to the offer of hot chocolate. No, he really was not in the mood for it, despite it probably tasting wonderful. He hadn't been feeling like it before Jin's little outburst and now he certainly had no mind for the stuff at the moment. What he wanted was to go home and have some nice, hot tea. That would make everything better. Tea always calmed his nerves and helped him to relax at the end of the day... or all of the time, given he almost constantly had a cup nearby throughout the day, especially when working.
Keeping his arm around Allison's shoulders, Ivan turned his head at hearing Jin's voice again. It was much less full of snark this time, for which he was quite grateful. The young bot seemed apologetic too... Maybe he wouldn't have to go talk to Arthur about it after all. If Jin was truly sorry, then he'd probably learned his lesson somehow and would be alright. He smiled slightly and nodded, "We can take you home, is not a problem~"

Allie frowned a little when her offer of hot chocolate was denied but she didn’t say anything, simply holding the cup carefully. The drink warmed her and it felt pleasant. She wondered if it would have felt that way too if she had been human. But she was not human, so there was no point in worrying and thinking about something that was impossible. Bots able to become human… It was a ridiculous thought, although sometimes she wondered if Ivan would speak with her more if she were a real person.
When Jin came out of the store, she gave him a small smile, glad to see that he was acting somewhat more polite than earlier. Maybe he had had a small glitch, because he certainly seemed better now. Finishing up, her hot chocolate, she looked around for a place to throw the cup away, which was when she realized that Ivan was still holding onto her shoulders. Blushing, she hurried off to the closest trashcan, trying to calm herself down before returning to her owner. She really needed to see if Yong Soo could disable this program.
Returning to the other two once she had calmed down, she smiled at Jin once more. “Do you need help with the bags?”

Jin was still trying to figure out how to carry his groceries, barely able to steady one bag without causing the other to slip. Maybe he should have gotten a shopping cart... Ah, but then he'd have to wheel it back, and that sounded like time better spent brewing tea.
After wrestling with the bags a bit more, he finally struck the perfect balance...now he just needed to keep his arms steady as he walked home. Shouldn't be a problem, right?
He turned to Allison with a inquiring look, pouting a bit.
"No...it's rude to ask a lady to carry something heavy," Jin protested, repeating one of the many lessons Arthur had given him on being a 'proper gentleman'. "Only rapscallions do that, and I'm not fond of scallions. Though, I have to ask, if I like, trip and I'm falling to my doom, please save the eggs. They're so very young."
